Just like model years past, the lineup of Dodge Challengers kicks off with the SXT trim in 2023. Powered by a 3.6L V6 engine offering 303 horsepower, this entry-level trim shows no lack of muscle. The engine comes paired with an eight-speed automatic. While rear-wheel drive is standard, all-wheel drive is optional. The Challenger SXT's exterior features the signature wide grille with a hood overhang, round headlights with LED halo-style daytime running lights, LED brake lights, automatic headlights, 18-by-7.5-inch alloy wheels, passive entry, and power-adjustable side mirrors. Meanwhile, when you get inside the Challenger SXT, you'll find an eight-way power-adjustable driver's seat, six speakers, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, dual-zone automatic climate control, push-button start, and a 7-inch infotainment touchscreen with Android Auto/Apple CarPlay. 

The GT trim still uses the 303-horsepower V6 engine, eight-speed automatic transmission, and rear-wheel drive with optional all-wheel drive. However, drivers get more control over the performance with steering wheel paddle shifters for sequential shifting. Additionally, the GT trim upgrades the Challenger's exterior with a performance hood, functional hood scoop, 20-by-8-inch alloy wheels, an SRT front splitter, and a rear lip spoiler. Meanwhile, the interior adds performance seat bolsters, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, a flat-bottom steering wheel, remote engine start, and a premium audio system with six speakers.

Stepping up to the R/T trim gets you a 5.7L HEMI V8 engine that delivers 375 horsepower. The HEMI engine is paired with a six-speed manual transmission as standard equipment, while the eight-speed automatic is optional. Rear-wheel drive is the exclusive drivetrain for the R/T trim and all that follow. The signature HEMI growl is sent through an Active Exhaust system that employs an electronically-controlled valve to limit engine noise while decelerating or coasting by closing the valve and opening the valve to unleash the rumble when accelerating. Other Challenger R/T standard features include rear parking sensors, front fog lights, performance steering, 20-by-8-inch alloy wheels, performance suspension, and an 8.4-inch infotainment touchscreen. 

Under the hood of the R/T Scat Pack, you'll find a 6.4L HEMI V8 providing you with an exciting 485 horsepower. Like the R/T, the Scat Pack comes with a six-speed manual transmission. In addition to the more powerful engine, the Scat Pack features Brembo high-performance brakes, 20-by-9-inch alloy wheels, line lock, launch control, and Dodge Performance Pages to keep track of the Challenger's performance numbers. Additionally, the Scat Pack trim is eligible for Dodge's Widebody package. This adds widebody fender flares, 20-by-11-inch alloy wheels, and adaptive damping suspension for a wider, more aggressive look.

Topping off the 2023 Dodge Challenger trim level lineup is the SRT Hellcat. In the muscle car community, the Hellcat is a revered model mostly due to the supercharged 6.2L HEMI V8 underneath its hood, delivering 717 horsepower. In addition to its extraordinarily powerful engine, the Hellcat also adds an array of performance-enhancing features. These include but are not limited to a dual-snorkel hood, illuminated air catcher valves on the grille, Bilstein adaptive damping shock absorbers, and more. The hotel also adds features to help maintain optimal running temperatures, including the SRT Power Chiller and Race Cooldown. The Power Chiller takes refrigerant from the air conditioning system and reroutes it to the supercharger's cooling unit to lower its temperature after a track run. Meanwhile, Race Cooldown keeps the radiator fan running after the engine has been shut down to continue to cool down the engine. Lastly, drivers can keep track of their engine output readings, 0-60 times, response times, G-Force readings, and more using the SRT Performance Pages accessible through the 8.4-inch touchscreen.
