Not everyone wants to drive a SUV when going off-road. That's right, plenty of off-roaders insist on using a truck. Targeted towards the Ram 1500 Big Horn and Laramie trims, the Ram BackCountry Edition adds more robust shocks, beefier all-terrain tires, skid plates for underbody protection, and an electronically-locking rear differential.

What are the features of the new BackCountry Editions?
First, for engines, the 2022 Ram 1500 BackCountry is available in 4x4 Quad and 4x4 Crew Cab configurations with either the 5.7-liter Hemi engine or the 5.7-liter with eTorque mild-hybrid assist. This assures that when you are deep in the bush, you have plenty of horsepower to navigate whatever terrain you happen upon.
Other functional features include the Ram 4x4 Off-Road Group. This group includes tow hooks; skid plates for the front suspension, transfer case, power steering and fuel tank; rear electronic locking axle; and off-road calibrated shocks and hill-descent control. Also included are the Bed Utility Group, which includes upper adjustable tie downs, bed extender, deployable bed step, bed lighting, and a spray-in bed liner.

Are there any special styling details?
Yes! You can always count on the folks at Ram to make a special edition stand out. The 2022 Ram 1500 BackCountry Editions will features 18-inch black wheels, black two-tone exterior paint, handsome black badging, extended, chrome exhaust tips, headlamp bezels, mirrors and heavy-duty running boards. A body-color grille surround and tonneau cover also are included.
Inside, the Ram BackCountry offers a handsome black interior with bucket seats. A proud BackCountry badge is displayed on the instrument panel and on the floor are all-weather slush mats from Mopar.
