October is a fun month in Georgia. Lots of adult only fun due to Oktoberfest and even Halloween. Have no fear families of little ones, there is lots to do for you too. Here are some fun family friendly Halloween events around Georgia. You can make a day out of it or you can do a weekend getaway planned around one of these events.

 

Owl-O-Ween Hot-air-balloon festival October 19 - 20, 2018

 

Kennesaw State University hosts Owl-O-Ween featuring tethered balloon rides, trick-or-treating at the balloons, a food court, art vendors, and entertainment.

 

Family Halloween Hike October 19 - 20 and 26 - 27, 2018

 

Enjoy the not scary family fun hike where a guide leads you on a lit trail to meet costumed creatures of the woods at the non-scary. There will be music, dancing and a campfire at Chattahoochee Nature Center in Roswell. Have cash on hand.

 

Boo at the Zoo October 20 - 21 and 27 - 28, 2018

Boo at the Zoo features costume contests, treats, magical paths, and a DJ dance party. This annual event is fun for everyone in the family. Get crafty with your costumes and enjoy crafts while you’re there too.

 

Halloween at Callanwolde October 26, 2018 (6 p.m.)

Halloween Night on Callanwolde Mountain includes trick or treating, a family-friendly costume contest, an all-ages dance party, and food trucks.

 

Halloween for kids October 27, 2018 (10 a.m. to 2 p.m.)

This day time event at Fernbank Museum of Natural History boasts

Dinosaur Trick-or-Treat, kids in costume, games, entertainment, and music.

 

Halloween Parade October 27, 2018

Decatur’s Halloween Parade is one of the family friendly parades happening around town.

Watch floats, decorated hearses, classic cars, and marching bands in the Haints and Saints Halloween Parade, followed by a musical jam in Decatur.

 

Family Garden Party October 28, 2018

Atlanta & Gainesville

Children can show off their costumes on the Goblin Runway, make fall-themed crafts, hear a storyteller, and ride a pony or a train at Goblins in the Garden, with scarecrows in the garden at the Atlanta Botanical Garden. 

 

Halloween at the Aquarium October 31, 2018

Children wearing costumes get free admission (two kids age 12 or younger per paid adult) and treats at Georgia A-Scary-Um at Georgia Aquarium
