Have you just bought your first Jeep? Are you curious as to how you can make the transition from pavement to the trails? We know that one of the biggest benefits of a Jeep is the simple fact that it can handle tough terrain, and while we want to have that weekend fun, it might seem far out of our comfort zone and abilities. That’s why we’re here! We want to help you gain some immediate experience by checking out a reliable guide that could help you off-road in your Jeep for the very first time. We are here for our customers, and nothing is more important than making sure that you can truly utilize every aspect of your Jeep. So, keep reading down below as we tell you the best way to get started for off-roading with your vehicle!

Pre-trip inspection

Before you go anywhere with your Jeep, especially the trails, you should make sure that your Jeep is in the right condition for this kind of wear and tear. This could mean scheduling a service appointment with our service center, or just doing things like making sure the tires are properly inflated, including your spare. You’ll also want to take a closer look at all of the vehicle’s fluids, and ensure that you aren’t already having any issues with things like the braking system. Avoid any major disasters by trusting our service center to help you prepare!

Stay on trails

You’ve had your Jeep inspected, you know where to meet up with your fellow off-roading friends, and the temptation to make a trail of your own is right there. For anyone who is just beginning, we want to tell you right now to not veer off the established trail. What could happen? You could hit a large hole, get stuck in mud puddles, or end up in a place you aren’t familiar with that could be unknowingly extremely dangerous. This could lead to the tires of your Jeep deflating, or other variables giving you serious issues.

Drive at moderate speeds

Off-roading is an artform, it isn’t a race. Because of this, you should never be trying to fly through a course, especially if it’s your first time. So, do it all at a moderate speed where you are still in complete control of your vehicle, so, should anything arise, you’ll have plenty of time to make the right decision to stay safe. You might even run into issues like wild animals, and no one wants to deal with hitting a deer.

Don’t drink and off-road

No one should ever be drinking and driving, no matter the circumstances. But with something that is seen as more of a hobby or weekend activity, the temptation is going to be there. You need to be extremely clear-headed while participating in off-roading, not only for your safety but everyone else’s. So, leave the drinks at home, and instead focus on all of the fun you’ll be having as you test your own limits as a driver!
