What's New for the Ram Chassis Cab?
On the Ram Chassis Cab SLT and above, consumers will have access to a Uconnect 5 system with four times faster speeds than the previous version and hold three times as much memory. In addition, on this system, you get things like Wi-Fi capability and tow-specific navigation, providing drivers with fantastic flexibility, allowing the system to continuously evolve to offer fresh content, features, and services. Also new this year for the Ram Chassis Cab are the Back Onyx cluster rings cluster badge, door handles, steering wheel logo, glove box logo, and Black Smoke speaker grilles. In addition, dual fuel tanks are now available for the V8 engine option.
Engine Options
The first engine option most will see is a potent 6.4-liter V8 that will get up to 370 horsepower at 4,600 rpm and 410 horsepower at 5,600 rpm under the 10,000-lbs GVWR. Torque is also impressive at 429 lb-ft at 4,000 rpm. With features like variable-valve timing and fuel saver technology cylinder deactivation, you know you are getting a quality vehicle that won't hog all the gasoline in your tank. Another engine option is an incredible 6.7-liter Cummings diesel engine with a high-option output and a staggering 360 horsepower at 2,400 rpm and 850 lb-ft of torque at 1,500 rpm.
Industry Inclusive Options
With the Ram Chassis Cab, you get a done of industry-first options such as a power take off which provides drivers with improved parameters for left and right side components. Additionally, there is a park assist system with an easy-to-use backup camera and front and rear parking sensors that will provide audio and visual cues and a class-exclusive 270-degree camera system with a trailer reverse guidance view. Want more fun options? The Ram Chassis Cab gives it to you with a Trailer Tire Pressure Monitoring system that will accommodate up to six of the truck's tires and 12 trailers with up to four trailer profiles. The Vehicle System Interface Module will facilitate between aftermarket equipment modules and various Chassis Cab controls and functions. Other available options include a fuel tank capacity of 74 gallons and dual alternator systems up to 440 amps.
Other Features
The Ram Chassis Cab takes capability to a new level as it gets a class-leading 35,220 pounds of towing with engines that offer an eight-speed automatic transmission for the first time on the 6.4-liter V8. With this great power comes some great safety features, including adaptive cruise control, Forward Collision Warning with Automatic Emergency Braking, and Lane Keep Assist. All of which are available on every trim level. In addition, there are premium interiors that have a 12-inch touchscreen that comes with split-screen capability and have tailor-made graphics for Ram models.
