2022 Grand Wagoneer Power & Handling

When it comes to power, the Grand Wagoneer is, well, grand! Under the hood, you will find a 6.4-liter V8 engine that delivers an impressive 471 horsepower and 455 lb-ft of torque that pairs with a smooth-shifting eight-speed automatic transmission and standard four-wheel-drive. If you want to haul around that boat for a vacation to the lake, the Grand Wagoneer has you covered as it has a Class IV tow hitch so that you can haul up to 9,850 pounds. This amazing SUV also comes with a premium air suspension that allows you to lower or raise the ride height depending on the situation. Meanwhile, the Selec-Terrain System has five different settings which allow the Grand Wagoneer to tackle any terrain you put in front of it!

2021 Cadillac Escalade Power & Handling

Cadillac provides the Escalade with two engine options to try to compete with what the Grand Wagoneer offers. Most trims come with a 6.2-liter V8 that kicks out 420 horsepower and connects to an automatic transmission. If you want another option, the Escalade also comes with a 3.0-liter turbodiesel with 277 horsepower, a slightly better fuel economy. This engine also comes with an automatic transmission. Both engines offer rear-wheel-drive, but you have the four-wheel-drive option if you want a little more traction. While both of these engines are perfectly acceptable, they do pale compared to what the Grand Wagoneer offers!

2022 Grand Wagoneer Features & Design

What makes the Grand Wagoneer one of the most impressive SUVs on the planet goes far beyond the power it provides. The cabin is filled with advanced tech, including custom air vents and a metal rotary shifter. For added luxury, all Grand Wagoneers seats are decked out in leather and laced with a diamond pattern in the perforation and stitching. In addition, there are several advanced features for the Grand Wagoneer, including four-zone climate control and front seats with 24-way adjustability, massage functions, heating and ventilation, and seating for seven or eight passengers. Tech features for the Grand Wagoneer are as plentiful as you get several touchscreens, including a 12-inch digital cluster display, a 12-inch center touchscreen, a 10-inch lower touchscreen, and a 10.25-inch front passenger screen. Theatre quality sound is available via the McIntosh Audio System with up to 23-speakers and a massive 1,375 watts of power. Every touchscreen is available with the latest version of the Uconnect system that speeds up to five times faster than the previous version and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. For those in the backseat, there is a rear-seat entertainment system.

2021 Cadillac Escalade Features & Design

The Cadillac Escalade tries to keep up with everything the Grand Wagoneer offers through its five available trim levels. The base-level trim is the Luxury, and It has some interesting features such as full leather seating, keyless entry and ignition, heated front and rear seats, tri-zone climate control, wireless Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto, and front and rear parking sensors. Upping things is the Premium Luxury trim which has an adaptive air suspension, a rear-seat entertainment system, and two performance packages that add more tech and performance-enhanced features. Higher trims add more tech and performance features such as massaging front seats, a leather-wrapped instrument panel, black wheels, and a gloss black trim. There are some things to like here, but the Grand Wagoneer is a little bit better.

Conclusion:

While we think that the Cadillac Escalade puts up a good fight, it can't compete with the Grand Wagoneers engine and luxury and tech items.
