What are the engine options?
Two engine options are available for the 2021 Jeep Gladiator, and there is a ton of power associated with both. Standard on all trims is a 3.6-liter V6 that rips out 285 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. Both of these numbers are impressive, but they get even better with the 3.0-liter V6 turbocharged diesel engine, which has 260 horsepower and 442 lb-ft of torque. The V6 comes standard with a six-speed manual transmission, but you do have the eight-speed automatic option if you wish. The diesel engine pairs exclusively with the eight-speed automatic. Towing numbers are impressive as the Gladiator can haul up to 7,650 pounds with a payload capacity of 1,700 pounds.
What are some of the Gladiator's features?
Four trim levels are available for the 2021 Jeep Gladiator, and each comes with an astounding amount of features. Starting things out is the Sport trim, which comes with cruise control, a manually adjustable tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, an eight-speaker audio system, and a 5-inch central display with voice control capability. You also get a soft folding top, removable doors, and a fold-down front windshield. Several sub-trims are available for the Sport, including the Sport S, the Willy's, and the 80th Anniversary Edition, which add several interior updates and more impressive tech. Moving up to the Overland adds automatic headlights, power windows, heated power mirrors, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, automatic climate control, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and a 7-inch central display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Looking for a Gladiator with a ton of off-road prowess, the Rubicon is one of the best off-road vehicles around as it comes with a 4.10 rear axle ratio, 33-inch all-terrain tires, fenders with increased clearance, FOX shock absorbers, locking front and rear differentials, and body-protecting rock rails and skid plates. Last, is the desert rated Mojave, which adds a reinforced frame, FOX internal bypass shock absorbers, and Desert Rated badge.
What can you tell me about the safety features?
When you get behind the wheel of a Jeep, you expect a certain amount of safety, and the Gladiator comes with a ton of different safety systems designed to help protect you and your family on and off the road. Available is a Blind Spot Monitoring System that scans the driver's blind spots for other drivers and helps you make safer lane changes. Also available is an Adaptive Cruise Control System, which helps the driver maintain a pre-set distance between the Jeep Gladiator and the traffic ahead. The last safety system we will discuss is the Forward Mitigation System, which will warn the driver of an impending collision and apply the brakes in certain situations.
