Can you tell me about the powertrain and engine?

Of course! The Compass is available in four separate models that all come equipped with a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine that delivers 180 horsepower and 175 lb-ft of torque! On the Sport, Latitude, and Limited you'll find the standard front-wheel drive. On the Trailhawk you'll find standard All-wheel drive, however, all-wheel drive is available for all Compass models. A six-speed automatic transmission will be paired with every front-wheel-drive model of the Compass, while a nine-speed automatic transmission is paired with the all-wheel-drive models. The powerful 2.4-engine gets up to 31 miles to the gallon highway and has a towing capacity of up to 2,000 pounds.

The safety and security suite is better than ever on the 2021 Jeep Compass. The full suite is standard on the Limited and the Trailhawk and available for the Sport and the Limited. It is made up of over 70 features including several driving assist aids that help keep your passengers safer than ever before. Driver-assist aids include LaneSense Lane Departure Warning with Lane Keep Assist, which helps prevent you from drifting out of your lane and can sense when a vehicle is approaching you from behind in your blind spots and alert you to help you stay safe in your lane. Full-Speed Forward Collision Warning with Active Braking lets your Compass detect if it is approaching another vehicle too fast, and will automatically apply the brakes if necessary to avoid a head-on collision. Finally, the ParkSense rear park assist with rear stop can sense objects behind your COmpass and will audibly and visually alert you to stop a potential fender bender! Each of these safety features allows drivers to have peace of mind while enjoying a smooth ride in the 2021 Jeep Compass.

How does the Compass handle off-road?

The Compass is a great addition to the Jeep line up when it comes to off-roading, and while each trim level was made with off-roading capability, it is the Trailhawk that takes to the trails with the greatest of ease. The Trailhawk delivers great 4x4 capability as it is equipped with the Selec-Terrain Traction Management system and Jeep Active Drive Low 4x4 system, so you always have great traction on any terrain. At both the front and the rear of the Trailhawk, you'll find red tow hooks, a signature to the Jeep off-roading look and performance system. Off-road tires, a raised suspension, and hill descent control also enhance the off-road capability of the Trailhawk, as well as underbody skidplates for the protection of the body of your Compass.
