2018 Jeep Cherokee vs 2018 Honda CR-V near Athens, GA

While both the Jeep Cherokee and the Honda CR-V have remained mostly unchanged for 2018, the Jeep Cherokee has made a few updates to the trim structure. This has made it easier for the Cherokee to access more features per trim level by getting rid of the base trim, including a new Latitude Plus trim, and adding additional features to the Trailhawk and Limited.

2018 Jeep Cherokee Power & Handling

The Jeep Cherokee offers two different engine options: 2.4-liter inline-4 and 3.2-liter V6. Each engine is paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission and has the option of front-wheel drive or four-wheel drive. The four-wheel drive also has the option of three different types of systems. These engines are capable of towing up to 4,000 pounds as well.

2018 Honda CR-V Power & Handling

The Honda has two engine options; the 2.4-liter inline-4 and the 1.5-liter turbocharged inline-4. Both engines are tied to individual trim levels and come with a CVT automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive are optional on both engines. The maximum towing capability of either engine is 1,500 pounds.

2018 Jeep Cherokee Features & Design

The Cherokee offers five different trim levels to choose from. Each adding on to the next. The Trailhawk is the basic off-roading trim but if you want more luxury to your off-roading adventures, the Overland is available at the top of the trim lineup with all the latest technology. If you want/need additional safety features, packages are available to add on to most if not all of the trims.

2018 Honda CR-V Features & Design

The CR-V offers four trim levels. Each trim level adds more features on from the trim below. The catch is that there are no additional features or packages to add on if you want more. You have to choose the trim that best suits your needs without customization. So if you want just one item from the next trim level, then you have to get the whole trim, not just add that one feature.

Conclusions

If you are looking for a customizable or off-road vehicle, then the choice is clear. The Jeep Cherokee offers a ton more flexibility and power than the Honda CR-V.
