Chrysler Pacifica vs Toyota Sienna

The 2017 Chrysler Pacifica is a wonderful minivan that has been crafted from the ground up to offer comfort and excitement to the whole family. The Pacifica will offer amazing new features, like a dual-screen rear entertainment system, and convenience with a built-in vacuum cleaner. Furthermore, drivers will be thrilled with the performance of the Pacifica, which is remarkably fun to drive and responsive in a variety of driving situations. Offering competition to the Pacifica is the familiar Toyota Sienna, which has arrived with a couple of new features, including Siri Eyes Free. However, the Toyota Sienna is returning with very few changes, which will make it hard for Toyota to beat the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica. To see what we think about these two models, continue reading below!

Chrysler Pacifica Power & Handling

The 2017 Pacifica will be equipped with a 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine, which boasts 287 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque. It uses a front-wheel drive system, along with a unique and innovative nine-speed automatic transmission. This transmission works seamlessly to deliver a refined and fun ride for the driver. The Pacifica works to maximize fuel economy in a number of ways, and one of the notable new features is the stop-start system. This system works automatically to save gas by turning off when the vehicle is at a stop. The system works without driver interaction, and without infringing upon the fun of the drive. When the Pacifica is properly equipped, it has a towing maximum of 3,600 pounds. The EPA-estimated fuel economy of the Pacifica comes in at 22 mpg combined. Drivers will appreciate the tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, cruise control, keyless ignition and entry, an electric parking brake, and more. Chrysler will also offer a hybrid powertrain later on in the year.

Toyota Sienna Power & Handling

Each Toyota Sienna is powered by a 3.5-liter V6 engine. It has a front-wheel drive system, along with a six-speed automatic transmission. Certain higher trim levels can be equipped with all-wheel drive. The powertrain configuration of the Sienna works to offer 266 horsepower, and 245 lb-ft of torque. The Sienna has a combined fuel economy of 21 mpg with the full-wheel drive system, and that will lower to 19 mpg if an all-wheel drive system is equipped. The Sienna comes equipped with cruise control, a tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, and on higher trims or with additional packages, customers can equip keyless entry and ignition.

Chrysler Pacifica Features & Design

Chrysler has worked hard to create the best-looking and most functional minivan on the road, and they have come up big with their 2017 Pacifica. The vehicle can be customized in a number of ways, starting with the range of trims, and extending to the packages and standalone features. There are five available trim levels with the Chrysler Pacifica, and even opting for the base LX trim level will provide drivers with a wonderful range of features. The Pacifica boasts LED daytime running lights, and 17-inch alloy wheels, while the interior boasts three-zone climate control and the convenience of Stow 'n Go. A five-inch center touchscreen display, Bluetooth, voice commands, and Uconnect Access provides plenty of connectivity, and safety features will include a rearview camera, traction and stability control, and antilock disc brakes.

Toyota Sienna Features & Design

The Toyota Sienna is available in five different trim levels, and available packages are restricted depending upon which trim is chosen in what the brand calls sub-trims. There are a few packages available, but Toyota does not offer the customization options found in the Pacifica. Some of the features found in the base L model will include manual sliding rear doors, automatic headlights, and 17-inch alloy wheels. The interior has tri-zone automatic climate control, cloth upholstery, and a height-adjustable driver seat. Toyota has offered a touchscreen with their connectivity technology, as well as Bluetooth, and USB port. Safety features include a rearview camera, active front head restraints, stability and traction control, and antilock disc brakes.

Conclusions

The all-new 207 Chrysler Pacifica manages to appeal to every customer, offering a refined driving experience and innovative technology. Whether you choose the base trim, or prefer to upgrade with higher level trims and packages, the Pacifica will offer a dynamic drive for the whole family. The Toyota Sienna is a good minivan, but as a returning model with limited updates, it fails to offer the spark and excitement of the Pacifica.
